You probably know that cascading style sheets are used to design web pages. You simply get the codes for certain images, videos, colors and texts you want to put in your website. Webmasters, most of them have a degree in a certain computer course, know how to create these codes. They have memorized the formats, the words, the punctuation marks, and characters to create the code they want to produce the design they are intending for their site. They can make more complicated ones that make them, well, real webmasters.
As for us, we can also try using cascading style sheets to personalize our own online profiles. There are certain sites that allow you to change background, colors, texts, and all that. You don't have to memorize codes and have an expert knowledge about cascading style sheets. You can just click on a site that will teach you how to do so or they have links where you can decide what you want for your profile and they will generate the CSS code for you. It's quite simple and easy. Anyway, if you are really into designing websites, it won't hurt to get some books and study CSS.

One of the most important things to learn in CSS design is the basic syntax. This topic covers the rules, grouping, inheritance and comments. Under Pseudo-classes and Pseudo-elements, the topics that fall within these are anchor pseudo-classes, first line, and first letter. One must also learn the rules of the Cascading Order.
An example of this is when calculating specificity in multiple style sheets. There are three things that you need to do: Count the ID attributes, then the CLASS attributes. These are then followed by counting the number of HTML tag names.

I've been in search for a resource site that will pretty much provide me everything (well, almost) about CSS techniques. I found it at Glish. In it I acquired a catalog that any programmer can find useful when it comes to cascading style sheets. At Glish you'll find two, three and four column styles for every CSS layout. Holy Grail is on the top of the list. It features a page composed of three columns and one fluid center. The database also provides resources for tutorials if you wish to delve deeper into learning CSS techniques. For beginners, you can put your hands on Design-O-Rama, s this may be the easiest place to start learning CSS.
